Community Food Bank
Our Community Food Bank program is currently the only food bank located in our community serving homeless shelters and non-profit crisis assistance agencies directly. Taking a collaborative approach to serving those in need, we pool resources, share warehouse space, and actively engage in food procurement on behalf of our entire community. Services provided to agencies through the Community Food Bank Program are completely free of charge to them. Our organization provides emergency food and hygiene items to crisis assistance agencies and homeless shelters adversely affected by the current economic conditions. This program serves between 50 and 60 non-profit organizations, faith based organizations, food pantries, soup kitchens, and schools with $2.5 million worth of food, hygiene products, household goods, and school supplies yearly. More than 8,000 families were helped last year as a result of The Outreach Center’s Food Bank Program.
