The Outreach Center is a community-based, 501(c)(3), nonprofit, relief organization serving Burke and its surrounding counties in Western North Carolina through our food, education, clothing, Food Stamp Program outreach, nutrition and exercise, and crisis-assistance programs.

Our Objectives & Programs

• Provide free, nourishing groceries to assist hungry families and other service agencies annually through our Outreach Food Distribution Program
• Educate eligible families about the nutritional benefits and application procedures of the Food Stamp Program through the Burke Food Stamp Program Outreach Project
• Provide nutrition education and exercise classes to help program clients improve their health and fitness levels through our Fresh & Fit Nutrition and Exercise Program
• Provide clothing and household items to assist needy families through our Fresh Look Program
• Provide free adult literacy, GED preparation, and career employment-skills training through our Fresh Start Education Program
• Provide crisis counseling and agency referrals through our Fresh Hearts Program
